Alabama Standard is proud to announce a new partnership with Sweet Grown Alabama, a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening Alabama’s agricultural community by connecting local farmers, ranchers and product makers with consumers and retailers.
Sweet Grown Alabama’s mission is to enhance marketing opportunities for Alabama-grown products, from fresh produce and handcrafted goods to meats and value-added items, by making them easier for consumers to find and support. The initiative promotes local agriculture through its online searchable directory and widespread use of the Sweet Grown Alabama logo on participating products.
Supporting Alabama farmers and growers has never been more important. Sweet Grown Alabama helps producers from small family farms to larger operations gain visibility, connect with customers and grow their businesses. Farmers, restaurants, retailers and specialty shops are encouraged to use the Sweet Grown Alabama logo on qualifying products to highlight them as locally grown or made.
Through this partnership, Alabama Standard will bring regular updates, features and stories about Sweet Grown Alabama’s events, member spotlights, seasonal harvests, and ways consumers can support homegrown products including tips on shopping local and enjoying seasonal flavors from farms across the state.
Sweet Grown Alabama also coordinates events that promote local agriculture such as Sweet Grown Alabama Day, a statewide celebration of local farms and food encouraging Alabamians to shop at farmers markets, dine with locally sourced ingredients, and engage with the state’s agricultural traditions.
